Woodhill Glamping: Booking Website with Custom Artwork

A Bespoke Booking Website for Woodhill Glamping

Woodhill Glamping needed a beautiful and functional booking website—one that not only made it easy for guests to reserve their stay but also captured the essence of the glamping experience. My focus was on creating a site that felt as warm, inviting, and tranquil as the surroundings of this Northern Ireland retreat.

A key feature of this site is its seamless FreeToBook integration, making it easy for guests to check availability and book directly. By embedding this system into the design, the website ensures a smooth user experience, reducing friction in the booking process while maintaining a strong visual identity.

Bespoke Artwork Inspired by Wainwright

One of the standout elements of this project is the hand-drawn floor plan, which I created in the style of Alfred Wainwright’s famous illustrated maps. This intricate sketch highlights the layout of the site, including the glamping pods, communal spaces, and amenities. The drawing blends function with aesthetics, offering visitors a clear yet artistic representation of the space.

To maintain a cohesive brand identity, I selected an earthy, muted colour palette inspired by the natural landscape. Soft greens, warm browns, and gentle blues help reinforce the feeling of being immersed in nature, creating a visual experience that aligns with the relaxing atmosphere of Woodhill Glamping.

Enhancing Visual Appeal with Custom Photography Edits

Original photo

Photography plays a crucial role in any website, and for Woodhill Glamping, I focused on making sure the images truly reflected the beauty of the location. The original banner photo needed adjustments to remove distractions—such as a silo and building works—that disrupted the serene, untouched feel of the site.

The edited photo with the construction work and the silo removed.

Using Photoshop, I carefully edited the image to seamlessly remove these elements, ensuring the landscape looked pristine and inviting. The final version presents a clean, engaging overview of the site, giving visitors a stunning first impression as soon as they land on the homepage.

A Cohesive Brand Identity: Logo, Colours & Typography

Beyond the booking system and visual elements, I also worked on developing a strong brand identity for Woodhill Glamping. This included designing a custom logo that encapsulates the spirit of the business—nature, adventure, and relaxation.

The logo combines organic shapes and natural elements, with typography that is both elegant and approachable. It’s designed to be versatile, working across digital platforms, print materials, and signage. Combined with carefully selected fonts and colour schemes, the branding ensures that every aspect of the website feels connected and intentional.

Optimising for SEO & User Experience

From the beginning, SEO was a key focus. I ensured that Woodhill Glamping’s booking website was optimised with targeted keywords, fast loading times, and a mobile-friendly structure. This ensures better visibility in search results, helping potential guests discover the site more easily.

By incorporating blog content, alt text, and metadata, I enhanced the site’s ranking potential while keeping it engaging for visitors. The result is a website that is both visually compelling and strategically designed to attract bookings.

Final Thoughts

This project was all about creating a booking website that does more than just function—it tells a story. From the hand-drawn artwork to the custom photography edits, logo, and FreeToBook integration, every detail was crafted to reflect the essence of Woodhill Glamping. The final result is a seamless, inviting digital experience that helps guests imagine their stay before they even book.

Sarah Foubert

I’m a photographer and Squarespace web designer based in Altrincham, South Manchester. I specialise in portrait, landscape and opera photography and also offer a “complete website package” where I can offer headshots, photos of your business and design your new website so you can manage it yourself afterwards.

Over the years I’ve built a portfolio career as a professional photographer, opera singer, wardrobe assistant and singing teacher. I have a MMus from the RNCM, a Bachelor in Theatre Sciences and Musicology from Ghent University and I’m a qualified teacher. When my son was born in 2021 I quickly realised that an opera career wasn’t as compatible with being a mum as much as I would like, so I decided to change my focus completely to photography and web design.

I prefer working with daylight in casual surroundings while having a chat making sure you’re at ease and relaxed. It’s the little moments in between that make the best shots!
