Stylish Product Photography for Calvers + Suvdal

A Creative Product Photography Shoot in Stockport

Furniture company Calvers & Suvdal reached out to me for product photography in Altrincham, looking to showcase their updated collection with a fresh, stylish approach. While furniture photography isn’t my usual focus, I was excited to take on the project—especially since they had booked a beautiful studio in Stockport for the shoot. The combination of creative freedom and a well-designed space made it an exciting challenge.

Throughout the shoot, I worked closely with the team to create a series of carefully styled mood shots. I played an active role in coordinating the setup, arranging different furniture installations to highlight each piece in a way that felt both natural and inviting. The studio itself was a fantastic space, featuring large windows that flooded the room with natural light. Rather than relying on artificial lighting, we decided to embrace this soft, organic illumination to enhance the textures and details of each piece. This approach gave the images a warm, lived-in quality, making the furniture feel right at home in its surroundings.

Beyond just the technical side of the shoot, I really enjoyed the creative challenge of blending interior design with photography. It was a refreshing departure from my usual work, allowing me to experiment with composition, lighting, and styling in a new way. Seeing the final images come together was incredibly rewarding, and it reinforced my appreciation for the art of capturing spaces and objects in a way that tells a story.

Overall, this project was a fantastic experience—one that pushed me to think outside my usual scope and explore a different subject matter. It reminded me how much I love discovering new creative avenues, and I’m excited to take on more projects like this in the future.

I’m a photographer and Squarespace web designer based in Altrincham, South Manchester. I specialise in portrait, landscape and opera photography and also offer a “complete website package” where I can offer headshots, photos of your business and design your new website so you can manage it yourself afterwards.

Over the years I’ve built a portfolio career as a professional photographer, opera singer, wardrobe assistant and singing teacher. I have a MMus from the RNCM, a Bachelor in Theatre Sciences and Musicology from Ghent University and I’m a qualified teacher. When my son was born in 2021 I quickly realised that an opera career wasn’t as compatible with being a mum as much as I would like, so I decided to change my focus completely to photography and web design.

I prefer working with daylight in casual surroundings while having a chat making sure you’re at ease and relaxed. It’s the little moments in between that make the best shots!

Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to work with me!
