Group Photography: Duo Shots for Anna Chiu & Stephanie Jennifer Poropat

I was delighted when Stephanie Jennifer Poropat got in touch to book a portrait session, this time including her duo partner, pianist Anna Chiu. They needed fresh professional portraits alongside some group photography to use for their marketing materials as a duo. To make the most of their time, we planned back-to-back individual portrait sessions, with a short group photography session in between—perfect for capturing them together without the need for a separate shoot.

As musicians, they also wanted some portraits featuring their instruments. Anna’s flat in Didsbury, with its grand piano, was the ideal setting. To create a clean, professional look, I brought along a backdrop to neutralise the wall next to the piano and later refined the background in Photoshop, removing any distracting elements like light switches and doors.

The group photography session was short and focused, capturing a few key duo portraits. Keeping it simple meant Stephanie and Anna could purchase images individually at just £5 per photo—an affordable way to add high-quality group portraits to their promotional materials.
